Whims of a Toddler

Kyle is teaching us new things everyday. Things like, "Just because I liked scrambled eggs yesterday, doesn't mean I'm going to like them today." or "I want to be held at least six hours out of the day, preferably in two hour increments." or "If you make me stop playing in dirt, leaves and ice cold water, I'm going to arch my back, yell and then try to jump out of your arms." The boy knows what he wants!

It's a learning experience for all of us!

In all seriousness though, Kyle is at such a fun stage right now. He's learning new things and doing new things every day and I feel so lucky to be able to see it all!

Here's some of the fun things Kyle is doing right now:

• Walking, walking, walking! No more crawling for this guy!
• Giving all kinds of 'love' to me, daddy, his Pooh bear, Brylee and the pups. It's soooo cute. He'll just walk up and bury his face on whomever and put his arms out for a hug. And he'll do this over and over.
• Dancing, dancing, dancing! He's gets his groove thing on with his piano, the iPod, or even during commercials.
• Eating! He's a really good eater...he just doesn't like veggies. His preferences are cookies (thanks daddy), fruit, pudding, yogurt...do you see a pattern here? He likes his sweets! We've been trying to sneak veggies into his meals, but for the most part he can taste/feel the peas or carrots and he'll just spit them out.
• Playing outside. He wants to be outside ALL THE TIME. It doesn't matter what the temperature is...he seems totally oblivious to the cold.
• Streaking! He loves to be naked...I think he'd be totally fine being naked all day if we'd let him. For obvious reasons, we're not going to let that happen.
• Reading books! He loves, loves his books. At the moment, his favorite book is "Be Careful Mr. Frumble." It's not even a baby book, but he loves it. He likes to sit in our laps with his basket of books and read through all of them. And he knows his books. If we try to read one he doesn't like he'll take it out of our hands and throw it on the floor.
