I would love to post a 10 month picture of him, but you see, I broke my new camera yesterday. Yes, the one I just got for Christmas after breaking my other camera. Luckily for me, it's still under warranty and I can get it fixed for free. (This was not the case when I dropped my iPhone in my cup of coffee. They did not offer to fix it or replace it for free. Just so you know.) So, no pics for at least a week. Boo.
Here's what we know about Beck after 10 months!
- He LOVES his big brother! When Beck sees Kyle, he gets the biggest smile on his face and starts saying, "Bub-bub, bub-bub." So adorable.
- He has a few words...bub-bub, dada, and uh-uh.
- He says "uh-uh" when he's getting ready to do something he shouldn't, like touch the DVR or try to play with outlets. I guess he's just getting the discipline out of the way for me. :)
- He loves to pound on things...I think his nickname should be Drummer Boy.
- He still scoots rather than crawls and we think it's adorable.
- He knows what he wants and when he wants it; it's usually NOW.
- Example: If he is eating puffs but sees that there are also yogurt bites in the bag, he will throw the puffs on the ground and scream as loud as he can until you get it right and give him the yogurt bites. There is evidence of this on Aisle 12 at our local Kroger.
- He still has one cry/scream/yell. It goes to 11. Every time.
- He still does not sleep through the night. Not even close. He has started sleeping in 3-4 hour spurts, which is better than 1-2 hour spurts, but come on man, let us get some sleep!!
- P.S. We've tried the modified cry it out scenario, we've tried keeping him up later so he'll sleep later, we've tried having him sleep in our room so he doesn't wake up Kyle...and it doesn't work! The boy is a night owl I guess.
- He loves the water. He's one happy camper when he's in the bath or the pool.
- He's an excellent eater. He chows down on just about anything, even green beans and peas!
- He loves his puffs, yogurt bites, and Cheerios. He's gotten really good at using his pincer grasp to pick them up and try to jam at least 6 at a time in his mouth.
- He already knows how to use a straw! This means no sippy cups for us...straight to the straw cups! Because he can use straws he grabs our drinks all the time. So he's already tasted sweet tea, Dr. Pepper, and iced coffee. He's partial to the iced coffee.
- He refuses to hold his own bottle.
- He will hold his own straw cup.
- He refuses to drink formula out of anything other than a bottle.
- He's discovered the art of throwing his pacifier across the room in protest of naps and bedtime.
- He always sleeps on his tummy with his bottom in the air. So sweet!
- Just today he discovered what happens when he 'accidentally' drops Cheerios on the floor next to the dogs. And he thought it was hilarious.
- He loves to dance.
- He is a snuggly, cuddly little baby. He loves to snuggle up on Matt every evening before bed and just chill out.
