Over It!

So we've had crazy cold, icy weather all this week, which means everyone has been trapped in their homes for what seems like endless days. As you know from my last vent, it's been below freezing since Tuesday and everything is covered in ice. I was surprised at how thick the ice is on the roads...at least 2-3 inches. It's made for some very long days here in the Allen home.  So far this week we have:
  • made cookies
  • baked cupcakes
  • read every book in the house at least 10 times
  • built forts
  • played in the bathtub
  • played cars
  • played choo-choo town
  • played tools
  • cleaned bathrooms
  • mopped floors
  • vacuumed
  • caught up on laundry
  • played with the MobiGo for hours and hours on end
And we've done this list pretty much everyday for 4 days (except for the cupcakes and cookies!).

And then last night, we got snow! Snow on top of ice! Yippee! So, as  you can guess...all of north Texas was shut down again! I have never been more excited to see a forecast for above freezing temps for tomorrow. It's going to get up to 39! All this blasted snow and ice better be out of here by tomorrow afternoon!

As much as I've been complaining about the weather, there have been some good things out of it. Thankfully, Kyle seems to be going through a growth spurt and has done tons of sleeping all week. We're talking 3 hour naps and sleeping past 7am. This is unheard of!

Also, my sweet friend Sarah invited me and junior over to her house so the kiddos could play. Those were two of the most precious hours I'd had in a few days...just getting out of the house and having a change of scenery! Sarah lives 2 miles from us, so it did take 10 min to get to her house. :)

And now on to the pictures...
